Tax Planning
Tax Planning
One of our many fiduciary roles is to help our clients navigate the complex world of taxes. Many people unnecessarily fall into extensively taxed areas within their financial plan. An entire area of law stems from the tax code, and no layperson should attempt to construct their own strategy for tax reduction. A well-rounded financial plan incorporates a proactive and strategic tax plan into it. It not only helps determine how to invest or what to invest but how to give, when to sell and what to sell. We work carefully with your CPA to avoid surprises and understand what is ahead so we can plan accordingly.
In the absence of careful planning, your income, investments, retirement accounts, and other assets may be subject to taxes that could be substantially lower with a thoughtful approach to implementing a tax strategy. Certain investments carry “tax-favored” treatment, and we encourage clients to take full advantage of them where they fit.
If you are a business owner, you have even more opportunities to harness the tax code to your advantage. We will assess your situation and be sure the best possible outcomes are in line for you! Developing a tax strategy is a vital building block of an overall thorough financial plan and serves as way we can maintain meaningful dialogue with our clients throughout the tax year.
